Our approach to AI

At FloPo, we are an AI-first company.

We use artificial intelligence throughout our business to help us research, write, organise and illustrate our educational content. We see AI as a tool that allows us to spend more time creating high-quality resources and less time on repetitive production work. It helps us move quickly while keeping our content affordable and regularly updated.

One area where this is particularly important is our imagery.

Working with photographs of young children brings significant responsibilities. It requires careful safeguarding, ongoing parental consent, strict licensing and considerable production costs. Even when managed well, photography can make it difficult to represent the wide range of children, families, settings and activities that FloPo exists to support.

For these reasons, we have chosen to use AI-generated imagery across our website, educational resources and social media.

This approach allows us to create illustrations that closely match each activity, represent a broader range of environments and adapt content as our library grows. It also avoids relying on stock photography that may not accurately reflect the activity being described.

We believe this is the most responsible and sustainable approach for FloPo today. It enables us to prioritise the quality of our educational content while avoiding unnecessary safeguarding, privacy and licensing challenges.

Where AI-generated imagery is used, it is intended to support understanding and inspire ideas. It should not be interpreted as a photograph of a real child, family, practitioner or setting.

As AI technology continues to evolve, so will our approach. We remain committed to being transparent about how we use it and to ensuring that it serves our mission: helping adults deliver confident, high-quality early years experiences with less effort and greater clarity.
